I'm sure you've seen more than your share of straight-A students with high SAT scores and a bundle of AP courses under their belts. _______________ is this type of student, but they are also so much more.
_______________ is a passionate, driven academic standout who has still managed to excel in several other activities, from marching band to the school tennis team.
Their leadership roles and volunteer work are outlined on their application, but I wanted to let you know about a few things that won't fit on a standard form.
_______________ is the student who showed up at my classroom door every Monday after third period their sophomore year to see if I was feeling okay after my chemo treatments. _______________ is the student who led the effort to raise more than $3,000 for the local Humane Society. _______________ is the student who organized a march for social justice, and followed that up with a letter-writing campaign to members of Congress.
They do none of these things for recognition or because they are "chasing" scholarship money. It's just who they are.
Although I'm the teacher, I feel that I have learned quite a bit from _______________. I'm almost jealous of the college that gets to enjoy them and their contributions for the next four years.
